Cinde L. Wolfe
Cinde Lou Wolfe of Simpsonville, SC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family July 17, 2025.
Born September 12, 1950, in San Francisco, CA to Clarry Ottosen and Donna D. Roberts of Junction City, OR.
She is survived by her devoted mother Donna Ottosen 94 of Simpsonville SC, children Amy Munguia 49 (Jose Jr.) Jesse L. Wolfe 43 (Audrey) and Annaliese Wolfe 18 of Indianapolis, IN. She leaves behind twin grandchildren Jose III and AvaMariee Munguia of Indianapolis, IN., beloved sister Lee Ottosen Smith 69 (Stephen) of Simpsonville, SC., Aunt Patricia Gonzales (Phil) of San Antonio, TX., best friend Peggy Fassler of Flagstaff, AZ. and her darling “Little Dog” Jules. She is proceeded in death by her father Clarry Ottosen.
Cinde graduated from Galileo High School in San Francisco, California. As a teenager, she converted to Catholicism where she found deep faith in God. In 1973, she enlisted in The United States Air Force and became one of the first military women police officers of her time. After her time in the service, she was a devoted mother to her children and a fierce advocate for the underserved and marginalized populations. As a single mother, she went on to receive her degree in Social Work from Fresno State University. Some of her greatest working accomplishments included starting the first women’s domestic violence shelter in Denver Colorado and working as a social worker for the Dept. of Child Protective Services of Riverside County, CA where she retired.
Our mother was a deeply complex person. As a private person, she didn’t have many friends but the ones she had were cherished and lifelong. She often would say she would much rather keep the company of animals. She had a true talent for seeing possibility out of nothing. She carried this throughout her life in all she did and everyone she came in contact with. She was an avid painter, seamstress, crocheter and jewelry maker. She loved raising roses and her favorite color was soft baby pink. She could make anything beautiful out of scraps of recycled materials. She was tremendously funny and a great story teller. She had a vast knowledge of historical facts from her love of reading. She was devoted to her family and loved us all fiercely. Our lives will never be the same without her but we will cherish the time and the memories that live on with us.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville, Heritage Chapel at 313 North Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681 on August 2, 2025 at noon. Her remains will be placed in an undisclosed location at a later date.
