Carol P. Monahan

Carol Patricia Monahan (nee Snyder), age 76 of Campbell Hall, NY, was born in Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, and passed away on May 13, 2025, in Nashville, TN, after a long illness.

Carol is survived by her husband of 58 years, Michael, and her three children, Christopher, Brian, and Amanda. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Snyder, and sisters Florence Strahau, Linda Curcio, Joan Johnson, and Theresa Dugan.

After graduating high school, Carol worked as a stock exchange employee on Wall Street for Weeden and Company. Later, she returned to school and obtained her paralegal certificate. After becoming certified, she worked for several attorneys’ offices in New York.

While working with one of her clients, an outreach organization for the poor, she decided to change her career from paralegal to social worker. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the State University of New York and a master’s from CW Post. She did her apprenticeship at the Child Study Center in Middletown, NY, earned her NY State License, and later helped create a new company devoted to child adoption issues.

Carol became a proponent for adoption issues in the county and worked closely with the Adoption Group of Orange County, New York, to provide services for adopted children and their parents.

We retired to Nashville, TN, where she passed away.
