Burl Edward Miller, Sr.
Burl Miller, 80, of Mauldin, husband of Myrtle Howell Miller for over 40 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 9, 2026.
The Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm in the Heritage Chapel of Cannon Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville, 313 N. Main St., Simpsonville, officiated by Pastor Heath Carruth.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burl Miller was born in Avery County, North Carolina, on May 13, 1945, to John and Bertha (Young) Miller. He was one of 9 children.
He had four brothers: James Miller (deceased), John Ray (deceased), Jack Miller of Simpsonville, SC, and Charles Miller of Virginia. He had four sisters: Doris Harrison (deceased), Betty Carpenter (deceased), Danna Burnette of Bluffton SC, and Brenda Burnette of Marion, NC.
Burl was an insurance salesman for 21 years before transitioning into full-time carpentry work for the next 20 years, before retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports, most importantly, Clemon Football.
He has four children: Eddie Miller (deceased), Tanya Miller Burton (husband Mike) of Simpsonville, SC, Terry Miller Williams (deceased), and BJ Miller (wife Liz) of Simpsonville, SC.
He has four stepchildren: Dr. David Bailey of Los Angeles, CA, Dwayne Bailey of Simpsonville, SC, Margaret Kelley Entwistle (husband Ken) of Woodruff, SC, and Jean Hogan (husband Mark), of The Colony, Texas.
Mr. Miller is also survived by 18 grandchildren:

He has 11 great-grandchildren
Pall Bearers will be: Gene Grooves, Wayne Reames, Zack Miller, Chase Williams, William “Charlie” Pulley, Harry Floyd.
Mr. Miller will be laid to rest in Graceland West Cemetery during a private service for the family.
