Betty Lou Hentschel
Betty L. Hentschel, 81, of Simpsonville, woke up in Heaven on Thursday, January 25, 2018 passing peacefully in her sleep.
Born in Marietta, OK, she was a daughter of the late Orville & Zona Lee Wilcoxson.
She is survived by three children, Claire Saunders and her husband, Bret, of Simpsonville, Ann Hastings of Arizona, and Paul Campau of Colorado; and six grandchildren.
She thoroughly enjoyed painting and also penning poetry. One of her poems written in 1979 follows,
“Weep not weep not for me, my friend;
For my tattered soul shall mend,
From here I shall be gone,
But I’ll not travel alone.
Listen my friend, and the breeze shall say,
A gentle old soul just passed this way.”
In lieu of flowers and while recognizing her love for rose bushes, the family requests that a rose bush be planted in her memory by anyone wanting to honor Ms. Hentschel.
Private services will be held for the family which will include butter pecan ice cream at Ms. Hentshel’s request.
Dear Hentschel Family: My deepest sympathy for the family and friends of Betty. We will never get used to losing our loved ones in death because as Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “We were created with everlasting life in view.” But may you find comfort in knowing that Almighty God has promised that soon he will swallow up death forever along with the pain that it brings. (Isaiah 25:8) God has also promised that he will return Betty to you as it says at John 5:28,29. You can also learn more about what happens when a loved one dies at JW.org.
Sincerely,
Susan
