Mildred Patton Woods Kirby

Mrs. Mildred Patton Woods Kirby, 99, of Fountain Inn, S.C. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

She was born May 17, 1924 in Fountain Inn, SC where she was a life-long resident. She was a daughter of the late Toy & Lillie Branyon Patton. Mildred graduated from Fountain Inn High School and Waldings Beauty Academy. She owned and operated her own shop, ’Mildred’s Shop’, until she retired in 1988. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Woods-Kirby is survived by a daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Woods; a granddaughter, Anna Woods Baccarny (Robert); great-grandchildren, Casey Elizabeth Baccarny Enloe (Andrew), and Robert Tyler Baccarny; and two special little friends Rachel Ann Rampey and Caiden Rampey.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Abner Woods; her second husband, Richard Edsel Kirby; her son, Michael Patton Woods; her sister, Wilda Patton Pettigrew-Thackston; and a brother, Jack Patton.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 12:00 pm in Cannon Byrd Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Barrineau officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Trinity United Methodist Church, 403 S Weston St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

    We are so sorry to hear of Mil’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and loved by so many. Fountain Inn will not be the same. We will be praying for all of her family.

    Mildred was one of my favorite people! We worked together,
    For several years and there was never a dull moment.

    Rose Ann and family,
    So sorry to hear of Mildred’s passing. Please know that others are thinking about you and praying as you move forward without sweet Mildred. She was such a beautiful lady and oh so outgoing! I think it is quite ironic that she was called home on Thursday before the “Aunt Het Festival”.

    I can’t believe she is gone! Our family loved Mildred, Johnny and Mike. Fountain Inn will not be the same without our special Mildred. Thank you Rose Ann for your care of her for years. God Bless you!❤️🙏🏻
