Stephen Thomas Piar, Jr.
Stephen Thomas Piar, Jr., 76, husband of Fran Piar for over 55 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Stephen and Grace Piar. Steve served in the United States Air Force for three years and retired as an electrical engineer from Michelin after a 30 years.
In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by a daughter, Faith Stringer and her husband, Barry; a son Walt Piar; a granddaughter, Savannah Stringer; and eight siblings, Cliff, Mike, Linda, Doug, Pam, Stephanie, Cindy, and Randy.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Hope Blackburn and his sister Amy Piar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
A private graveside service will be held for the family. The family will plan a Celebration of Life to be held in the near future.
So sorry to hear about Steve, my prayers and thoughts are with you. He was such a fine man and a good Christain. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around each of you and give you comfort.

Steve was a really great guy and a pleasure to work with at Michelin. His knowledge and skills were an asset to all that worked with him. The world has lost a good man with his passing, but Heaven has gained a good one.
We are so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. Wayne and I had a great deal of respect for him – he was such a kind, humble Christian. To Fran, Faith, Walt, as well as his siblings, please know that we are praying for you all in the days ahead. I have to agree with Loyd that the world has lost a fine man.. but we are comforted to know where he is.

Fran, we are hurting with you in the loss of Steve. He was our former Sunday School teacher, longtime friend, and a great example of a loving father and husband. We will surely miss him and pray that God will wrap his loving arms around you in the coming days.

I’m just seeing this come across Fb. Only fond memories of a sweet soft spoken neighbor in Greenville. God bless the family as you mourn the loss. Although he left some family here, it must be comforting to know he is reunited with family in Heaven.
