Betty Lou Cole
Betty Lou Cole, 77, of Greenville, widow of Raymond Arlen Cole, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 18, 2019 with her family by her side.
Born in Backus, WV, she was the daughter of the late Pershing Edmon Shuck and the late Delphine Violet Adkins Shuck. Responsible for the care of her younger brothers and sisters, Betty took great pride in her cleaning, cooking, baking, and her maternal nature of heart.
Betty was courted by her late husband Raymond on a blind date in Chicago. Betty and Raymond were to be married two weeks following the date. The two lived happily in Chicago for most of their married lives. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband in 1999.
Mrs. Cole is survived by her son, Tim Cole of Fountain Inn; daughter, Tammy Cole of Greenville; two grandchildren, Jessica Cole and Tim R. Cole; two great grandchildren, Jayla Johnson and Julian Maddox; her brother Ronald Shuck; and two sisters, Patricia Bone and Judy Farley.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and Billy Shuck and one sister, Bonnie Harrah.
Betty’s favorite song of all time was Amazing Grace. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Mrs. Cole will be interred in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Mount Hope, WV.
