Richard Dale Rinkema
Richard Dale Rinkema, 62, beloved husband, father and grandfather died peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at home from an extended illness. He was born November 12, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois; he was the son of the late David and Tempe Rinkema.
He was a graduate of Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa in 1966. He served in the US Army in Germany from 1967 – 1969. He then joined the Army Reserve and served for an additional 15 years. He truly loved his country and was proud of his military years served. He loved his wife and children and his grandchildren. He was truly a man who stood up for what he believed in.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Budreau Rinkema to whom he was married for 43 years, a son, David Rinkema and his wife Kristi of Savannah, Georgia; a daughter, Nicole Parris and her husband Stacey of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren whom he adored, Jonathan and Justin Rinkema and Austin and Casey Parris; one sister, Karen Haywood and her husband Bill and one brother, James Rinkema of Springfield, Illinois and his grandmother, Merle Gillespie of Louisville, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Good Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum, Boiling Springs, SC, conducted by the Hospice Chaplain, Cindy Inman.
