Jean Rose David
Jean (Rose) David, 91, passed away on May 4, 2017 at The Springs of Simpsonville.
She was born July 18, 1925 in Willoughby, Ohio to George H. and Eleanor (Tanner) Rose.
She married Alan A. David on June 12, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio.
After graduating from Willoughby H.S., she offered her job of inspecting and testing tank treads to her best friend. This allowed her to enter the WWII nursing program. She graduated from the Huron Road School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio in 1947. She later inspired two daughters to also become nurses.
She was a resourceful mother with a tremendous work ethic shaped by the stock market crash of 1929, growing up during the depression, the sacrifices of WWII, and then raising four children in Ohio and then Michigan.
They left Marshall, MI in 1985 to retire to Holiday, FL where she loved the warmth and spent many happy hours with her friends, flowers, and plants. They relocated to Simpsonville, SC in 2009 to be near family.
She is survived by her husband, Alan; brother George H. Rose, Jr. of Burton, Ohio; son Alan T. David of Midland, MI; daughter Lucy Kebler (Glenn) of Six Lakes, MI; daughter Kathy Luebkert (Mark) of Simpsonville, SC; daughter Sally Klaasen (Bill) of L’Anse, MI; grandchildren Kelli Johnson and Bonnie Filipovic (Zlatko) and great granddaughter Lejla Filipovic.
She was a loving, caring mother who will be dearly missed and she will be in our hearts forever. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Springs of Simpsonville and Pruitt Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
