Betty Lee Roberts Vaughn
Betty Lee Roberts Vaughn, 100, widow of Alfred “Shorty” Vaughn, went home to her Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Born in Taylors, SC, Betty was the daughter of the late Thomas Clyde and Myrtle Andrea Roberts.
Betty retired from a long career at Cryovac. Betty loved to travel and visited all 50 states and much of Canada. She was a member of Bethel UMC Simpsonville SC.
She is survived by her daughter Rene Smith and son-in-law Walt Smith.
In addition to her husband, was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas, Norris, and Charles Roberts; sisters, Martha Hamer, Mary Beckham, Evelyn Williams, and Frances Forbes.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home- Simpsonville; 313 N. Main St, Simpsonville, SC 29681. The family will receive friends following the service.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Bethel United Methodist Church Simpsonville; 500 Holland Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681.


Miss Betty will be missed for the pass few years I had become close to her she’s always had a smile when she talk to me I’m going to miss her so much love you always Miss Betty

I am very honored to be able to have shared the past 14 years enjoying time with Miss Betty.I know many lives have been touched by her in the century that she spent on Earth and lives will continue to be. She truly will be missed.
