Brenda G. Barrett

Brenda Grantham Barrett, 81, of Simpsonville, SC, Wife of Ernest E. “Jack” Barrett Jr., passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. Born in Atlanta, GA, she was a daughter of the late T.U. Grantham and Edith Bristol Grantham.

In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by two children, Ernest Chandler Barrett (Lauri) and Shelley B. Alverson (Kenneth); four grandchildren, Erin Barrett Moye (Daniel), Jackson Barrett (Hannah), Christopher Barrett Alverson (Olga Baza), and Kelsey Elswich (Jamie); three great grandchildren, Mason Moye, Banks Moye, and Lynnox Lea Barrett; and two brothers, Thomas Larry Grantham and Jeffrey Lavelle Grantham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Mangum and Audrey Sawyer; and her sister-in-law, Margaret Lea Barrett.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home; 1150 N. Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 29644. Entombment will follow in the Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum.

 The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
