Luz Lama

It is with hearts full of love and gratitude for a lifetime of beautiful memories that we announce the passing of Luz Lama, 75, of Fountain Inn, widow of Horacio Lama, who went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 21st, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose radiant spirit left an incredible mark on everyone she met. Born in Bogota, Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Pablo and Rosa Vasquez Moreno.

Luz is survived by her two children, Kevin Lama and Isabel Rood (Darren); three grandchildren, Hayleigh Lama, Bryan Rood, and Alyssa Rood; and a sister, Elsa Moreno. To say that she was the glue of her family would be an understatement; she was our anchor constant cheerleader, and the very heart of our home. She possessed an exquisite eye for detail, ensuring that everything around her was clean, organized, and beautiful. Her kitchen was a place of constant nourishment, where she was lovingly preparing delicious and healthy meals.

Her smile was her signature, it could effortlessly light up any room. She lived fully in the moment, finding immense joy in the simple and beautiful rhythms of life. Whether she
was listening to her favorite classical and jazz music, prioritizing her health through daily exercises or dancing with her precious grandchildren, she moved through the world with grace, energy, and an unshakable sense of peace.

Her enduring legacy is the boundless love she left behind, the family she faithfully held together, and the Christ-like kindness she taught us to give the world.
