Zena C. Bishop

Zena C. Bishop, 81, of Piedmont, SC, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2024. Born in Westminster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Hazel Haynes Roach.

Zena loved to garden and fish any chance she could get, but mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and those who had the pleasure of knowing her loved her outgoing spirit.

She is survived by her two children, Latrale Guenther and Chad Bishop (Melissa); seven grandchildren, Natalie Shuler (Drew), Leanne Abercrombie, Madalyn Guenther, Lexi Bishop, Camron Bishop, Brooke Charping, and Hailey Charping; and two great-granddaughters, Nova and Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, W.C. Roach.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home- Simpsonville; 313 N. Main St., Simpsonville, SC 29681. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home.

    To Latrale, Madalyn, Wilton, and the rest of Miss Zena’s family. I did not know Miss Zena, but have the pleasure of working with her family members, Madalyn and Wilton, and just by knowing them, she must have be a wonderful lady.     My condolences to you and the family. Zena was a wonderful person. My Mom and her were very close friends and she had a lot of love and respect for her because of my mom I had the privilege of knowing her and having the pleasure of becoming her friend. Latrale you had a great Mom and a loving Mom as I did. We were blessed. My prayers are with you all as you say your goodbyes to a wonderful woman.😢🙏

    Zena and I was very close for many years. We called each other sis.we have done, alot of things together.like talking on the phone for hours. Also so much more.my son jeff loved aunt Zena ,AuntZena loved jeff. We sure going to miss Aunt Zena.Peace prayers for the family .Love you all Pat &jeff

  • Condolences and prayers to Zena’s family. We all loved her and she was a very kind and wonderful woman. I am one of the Turner family and we all will miss her even though my mom and dad have went ahead of her. We will all meet again in heaven someday and it will be a great reunion. I pray for peace and guidance through the following days which I know are going to be very hard for all of the family.
