William B. Keaton, Jr.

William Byron Keaton Jr of Simpsonville, SC, age 90, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2020.

Bill was born on January 20, 1930 in Camilla, GA, the oldest child of William B Keaton Sr and Evelyn Akridge Keaton. He was a graduate of Leon High School in Tallahassee Florida. He was an employee of PPG Industries for 50 years where he was the District Manager, and he also served with the Florida National Guard for 10 years.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Utley and husband Mark; grandchildren, Blair Berty (Tim), Britney Darby (Fitz), and Garrett Moore; great grandchildren Riley, Dylan, and Margot; brother, John Keaton (Helen); niece, Margaret Gatlin Smith (Dale); sister-in-law, Rebecca Keaton; great-niece, Kymberly Keaton-Emmert (Nathan); and his great-nephew, Darion Smith (Leigh).

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Ardith McKenzie Keaton; his sister, Jean Gatlin and her husband, Ervin; and his brother, Don Keaton.  

Bill loved the Lord, his family, his cousins, church family, fellow Gideons and always had a smile on his face. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the many friends, his church family, Hospice staff, caregivers, Harmony staff and the Woodruff Road Waffle House crew for always being there for him. He knew he was blessed to have you all in his life.  

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at The Cathedral Community Church in Simpsonville.

    We will miss you Granddaddy Bill. We were so blessed you got to meet our children, Riley loved you very much. I am so happy you are with Mimi now in Heaven. We loved coming to visit you guys in the summer and always had such a great time. We looked forward to it every summer, the great pool and walks on the golf course gave us such good memories
