Ted Edward Thackston
Ted Edward Thackston, 80, of Simpsonville, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022. Born in Greenville, Ted was a son of the late Lewis L. and Kathleen Young Thackston.
Ted is survived by two nieces, Catherine Adams (Tony) of Simpsonville and Dr. Jennifer Kammer; a great nephew, Colt Adams; an aunt, Mary Ann Griffith; and an uncle, Bruce Young.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell L. Thackston.
A Funeral Service will be held at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park in the mausoleum chapel on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, beginning at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted’s memory to the activity fund at NHC HealthCare Mauldin, 850 E. Butler Rd., Greenville, SC 29607 or The Springs Senior Living, 214 E. Curtis St, Simpsonville, SC 29681.

Please accept my sympathy as you mourn Ted’s passing.
I remember Ted as a frequently smiling and hard-working person to overcome his disability, having had the stroke in his early twenties and a hip fracture (?) later. I was his physical therapist- – in my remembrance, it was at Hillcrest Hospital in the 1990s, but perhaps at Greenville Memorial after that. He was “a trooper”!
When visiting Ted and delivering cookies for Unity Baptist he was the one who always cheered his visitors. He was an amazing person of great physical and spiritual strength. Prayers for family.
