Sharon (Crum) Sowder of Simpsonville, South Carolina, departed this world early in the morning of July 17, 2026. She was born and raised in Harrodsburg, Indiana on March 18, 1936, to Isabel Chambers Crum and Clayton Crum.

While in high school, Sharon met the love of her life, Keith Sowder of Bloomington, Indiana. They enjoyed nearly 60 years together while living in Bloomington, Indiana, Yuma, Arizona, Arcadia, Florida, Punta Gorda, Florida and lastly in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Sadly, Keith passed away in 2016. Her family takes tremendous solace in knowing she rejoins him in heaven.

Sharon’s life was filled with love, faith, kindness and devotion to her family. She was an award-winning quilter winning numerous ribbons, her knitting and crocheting skills were also outstanding. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always have beautiful memories of their “NeeNaw” with quilts made for them by Sharon. Many other  lives were touched by Sharon’s love and generosity.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Keith Sowder, three grandsons, two sisters and numerous family members and friends.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one brother.
