Sara Godfrey Davis

Sara Godfrey Davis passed away on February 5, 2017 in Greenville, SC at the age of 73.

She is survived by her children, Alicia Anderson (Chris) of Charlotte, NC and Bart Davis (Beth) of Fort Mill, SC, grandchildren Grayson and Ansley Davis, and Jeremy and Jordan Anderson, a brother, Jerry Godfrey (Carol) of Simpsonville, SC, and a sister, Ann Kennedy (David) of Lilburn, GA, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Davis, Jr. and her parents, Homer and Margaret Godfrey.

Sara was born on July 18, 1943 in Charleston, SC. She attended Harding High School in Charlotte, NC and graduated from McArthur High School in Hollywood, FL. She graduated from Florida State University. She was a Summary Court Judge in Greenville County over 25 years and loved her job working with the Fairview/Austin Summary Court office.

Sara loved attending the Greenville Little Theater, spending time with family and friends, and playing the piano. She was a longstanding member of Mauldin United Methodist Church and served on the communion committee for years.

Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday February 8, 2017, 2:00 pm at Mauldin United Methodist Church, with interment following at Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 pm prior to the service.
