Robert Monroe Wooten

Robert M. Wooten, 88, of Fountain Inn, husband of Lorraine E. Wooten, died on November 16, 2016.

Born in Summerville, GA he was a son of the late Oliver Miles Wooten and the late Emma Tucker Wooten. Mr. Wooten served our country and retired from the United States Air Force. Following his service in the US Air Force he worked and retired as a Manager of Distribution from K-Mart. He was actively involved in the Greenville Arts Community where he was a season subscriber to the Peace Center, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and The Warehouse Theater.

In addition to his wife, Lorraine, of 29 years Mr. Wooten is survived by two sons, Terry A. Wooten and Stephen C. Wooten both of GA; a daughter, Ingrid G. Wooten of GA; three grandchildren, Colin Wooten, Sandon Wooten and Aaron Wooten; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Hoyt ‘Pete’ Wooten and his wife, Kathleen, of GA; and two sisters, Carrie McDaniel of GA and Betty Lynch and her husband, Pat, of CO.

Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his first wife, Irmgard Wooten; and two brothers, Willard Wooten and Clifton Wooten.

Private services will be held for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: The Warehouse Theater, 37 Augusta St, Greenville, SC 29601.

    Sincerest Condolences to his family, and we thank him for his service in the USAF. Also a noted correction, his first wife, Irmgard Wooten is still alive as of October 14, 2019, as she is in a rest home doing well. God Bless.
