Rickie Lynn Babson, 66, husband of Susan Somerville Babson, of Simpsonville, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Born in Greenville, he was a son of Mary Ann McClellion Babson and Arthur G. Babson.
In addition to his wife and parents, Rickie is survived by five children, Dale Babson, David Babson, Patrick Babson, Candyce Sollinger, and Daniel Smith; six grandchildren, Riley Babson Collins, Abigale Norris, Kadence Helmbrecht, Charles Babson, Zaedee Sollinger, and Willow Sollinger; and two sisters, Kayla Babson and Lisa Swanson.
Rickie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Babson, and his brother, Ronald Clark Babson.
The family will visit with friends and family to celebrate Rickie’s life on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville, 313 North Main Street, Simpsonville, 29681.

I’m just heartbroken especially for the family to hear of such a good friends’ passing. I worked with Rick for many years and my heart goes to Susan and all Rick’s loved ones he mentioned over the years.
