Richard Benjamin Rowe, 58, of Simpsonville, husband of Susan Armstrong Rowe went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Born in Albany, GA, Mr. Rowe was a son of the late Jacob Benjamin & Margaret Langford Rowe.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by two daughters, Amanda Katherine King (Carson), and Emily Grace Rowe; two grandsons, Hudson & Walker King; one sister, Jill Harrison (Robin); and one brother, Harry Rowe (Mandy) along with several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
How do you sum up Richard’s life in a paragraph? It’s seemingly impossible yet it could be said this way: He lived life to its fullest, all while trying to point back to Jesus in everything he did. Richard was a faithful follower of Jesus and an active member of Fellowship Greenville. He truly loved working as a financial recruiter, utilizing his extraordinary talents of making connections, talking with people, and placing them in their dream jobs. His greatest joy was being a husband, father, and especially Pops to his two grandsons. Richard was also very active in the Colson Fellows program, having been the Greenville cohort director for the last four years. Richard served as a mentor to many young men who continued to look to him for advice even years later. He was passionate about helping people through hard seasons and crucial decisions. He was always smiling and joking, bringing smiles to those around him. In his free time, Richard loved to watch the Atlanta Braves, travel with his wife, Susan, and play cars with his grandson, Hudson. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 1:30 pm at Fellowship Greenville, 3161 S Highway 14 Greenville, SC 29615 and will be officiated by Pastors Josh Amos and Charlie Boyd. Interment will be private for the family.
The family will receive friends at the church starting at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Colson Center or Fellowship Greenville.

Mr.Rowe and Mrs. Susan, hosted us weekly for Bible study in high school. They opened up their home, fed us pizza and cookies and allowed anyone to come and see. I just have an extreme heart of gratitude when I think back to Sunday night Bible studies. I’m so thankful for their faithfulness and for Mr. Richard’s teaching and knowledge he shared with us.
Richard was a student in my 8th grade Georgia History class at Albany Junior High School. He was a delight. He was from a fine family with whom I am personal friends as well. Love to all his family.
I’m so sorry Susan. Richard was such a Christian mentor to me and so many Colson Fellows. Prayers continue for you and your family. May the Lord continue to you peace and comfort each day.
Richard was a great guy. I first met him Sept. 1988. I was a lost homesick Freshman. He was nice to me and he was funny. He did a great job as our BSU President my freshman year. He graduated 3 years before me so I didn’t get to know him like others. But I can say this he always portrayed Jesus with his actions. A big loss for everyone that he touched and who he continued to touch.
This is beyond terrible . Richard was a warm hug the minute he walked into the room. He was so kind and funny with a sweetness that will the world a little less light.
Richard was my younger cousin. We always had fun at the family reunions. Our prayers for comfort and peace to you and your family.
So sorry for your loss. Richard was a great guy. Prayers for you and your family.
So sorry to hear of this news. I got to know Richard through the Pinnacle Society and he was one of the most kind, ethical, smart and caring people in our business. Prayers to his family

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry to hear this! We were professional friends for decades! It’s been several years since we last talked. He was a force to be reckoned with in the recruiting world. Hopefully he can recruit for Jesus now. Hugs for the entire family. He will be missed in so many parts of Greenville.
Susan, I’m so sorry to hear this. Richard was always a great friend and willing to listen and advise.
He will truly be missed.
I will always remember & cherish Richard’s kindness toward me. He was incredibly approachable, and it is a testament to his character how many people of all ages knew they could come to him for anything. The Springgates are thinking of you all, Rowe family. 💜
You will be missed by your Pinnacle Family. You were an amazing man. Love and Prayers to your family.
Richard was truly a joy to be in the presence of! He was a witty soul who could calm the waters with his smile and humor.
He is an example to all of us on how a servant of Christ should be. Truly Joyful and open to God’s call.
Lori & I will truly miss him. We are grateful for being in the last Colson Fellows program he directed!
We stand firm that we will see him & that great smile again one day!
We remember Richard from his high school days in Slbany. Friends of our sons, Michael and Bryan. We also remember his mom, Margaret.

Richard grew up around the corner from me. We attended Byne Memorial Baptist Church together, went to school together, played ball together, rode BMX bikes all over Albany. We talked about girls, sports, movies, music…he knew all the words to “Jack and Diane” and changed up the names. I remember him leaning over on the 10th stanza of “Just as I Am” telling me I needed to go down front and redidicate my life so we could go to lunch. He was hilarious without trying.
Richard had a knack for calling our house the minute we sat down for dinner…we still joke about that. I spent a lot of time at his house and loved his parents.
We lost touch after high school and reconnected with the advent of Facebook. We lived nearby in Anderson and Richard and I had lunch a few times before my family and I relocated to TN. I was not surprised to learn that Richard was a strong Christian, loved his wife and girls, and later loved his grandchildren. How he talked about grandchildren!
If there was ever a “good guy” Richard was that guy. Even as a teenager he was a barometer for good and bad, and Richard always chose good. Always.
I am sad for his family, but happy to know we will meet up and ride BMX bikes again in Heaven and he can butcher “Jack and Diane” again.
“May God comfort your hearts today and bless
you with endearing memories that yours hearts
will always treasure.”
I always enjoyed talking and being around Richard. It had been a couple of years since we had last spoken; and I regret that. I know he will be missed.
Sending our condolences to the family, as we celebrate Richard’s life and his homecoming. Richard was a great man, will be missed by all who knew him.
I was at a complete loss for words when I saw this on facebook. Richard has been the go-to recruiter in the upstate as long as I can remember. Even though I never got the privilege to meet Susan and his girls, I feel like I knew each one. He loved sharing proud dad moments and he never failed to ask about each member of my family. I sent many folks his way over the years to find that perfect role. His kindness, sense of humor and ability to make others feel confident will be missed by so many. Even though we know where he is, and what a joy that is, there will still be a vacancy here on earth.
Sending prayers to the whole family during this difficult time.

Richard was a force of nature. He reflected joy and enthusiastic optimism for every moment I can recall engaging with him.
I am particularly grateful for his friendship and leadership with my family – leading a mission contingent from FG to the Dominican Republic several years ago, we got to know him and just how big a heart he had for people.
We have no doubt that he is smiling in the arms of his savior Jesus Christ today. When we all meet in heaven, I’m imagining he will be asking me once again to sign up for the Colson Fellows Program. I regret I did not get to spend that time on that worthy cause he so faithfully supported.
I am so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. Always one of the warm, welcoming, friendly members I enjoyed at each Pinnacle Society event. My condolences to his family on your loss.
My condolences to the entire family. I met Richard back in 2019 and he was very nice, supportive and extremely helpful in assisting me towards finding another job. May Richard rest in peace.
I have utmost respect for Richard and the way he supported me during a career decision. He truly and selflessly looked out for the best interest of the person and had their best interest at heart. Please know that I am praying for your family.
Susan, Richard truly was one of my absolute favorite people in Pinnacle. Most importantly, what I loved about Richard – impossible to put in a few sentences – and the words come with tears and a very heavy heart. I loved his smile and his overly kind demeanor. Richard was kind, sincere, honest, trusting, loving, caring, transparent, smart, professional, hard working, balanced, friendly, faithful, sharing the spirit and carrying the Lord’s torch in all his ways- what I love about Richard the most “HE IS IN HEAVEN AND I WILL GET TO SEE RICHARD AGAIN.”. We were all blessed to have Richard in our lives and were positively impacted by his friendship. Susan, I will be praying for healing hearts for you, your daughters and grandson’s. His memories will last a life time.
I got to know Richard through the Pinnacle Society. He had a kind soul and always smiled when I saw him. His smile will be missed. Deepest condolences to the family.
