Rachel Stogner Coppedge

Rachel Stogner Coppedge (née Bonds), 85, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.

Ms. Coppedge was born in Simpsonville to the late Rev. Daniel Stogner and Anabel Wilson Stogner. She attended Winthrop College and worked for many years in Anderson County District 1 as an elementary and special education teacher. She was a member of Young Memorial ARP Church in Anderson, SC, and later joined the congregation at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Mauldin. ‘Ms. Rachel’ was a positive light for all. Her kindness and grace toward others was without comparison.

Surviving are her son, Joel E Bonds, Jr.; a daughter, Susan Bonds Sloop; son-in-law Danny Sloop, granddaughters, Hanna Mills and Rachel Mills; and her siblings, Daniel Stogner, John Stogner, and Patricia Clark. She is predeceased by her sister Anabel Stogner Taylor.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Open Arms Hospice at the McCall Hospice House for the love and compassion shown to Ms. Rachel.

Funeral services and burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Cannon Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Cannon Funeral Home on Friday for an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church at 739 N Main St. Mauldin, SC 29662 and the McCall Hospice House of Greenville at 1836 West Georgia Rd. Simpsonville, SC 29680.
