Paul Morris Luttrell, 79, of Mauldin, SC, husband of Susan Raettig Luttrell, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026. Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Paul N. and Clara Higgins Luttrell.
Paul Luttrell, my handsome multi-layered tapestry of a man was 79, born November 3, 1946. We would have been married for 47 years on October 13, 2026, but we knew each other since 1965, when his family moved in across the street from mine.
Please remember him for his faithful attendance with the Mauldin Church of Christ, his mischievous smile, twinkling blue eyes, his love of music, motorcycles, and gunsmithing, and his constant love for his family.
Thank you for your cherished prayers, thoughts, and care for us today and in the coming days.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by three children, Paul Brian Luttrell (Amanda), Sean Bruce Luttrell, and Shannon Luttrell (Matty); three grandchildren, Kaetlyn Luttrell, Emma Luttrell, and Conor Luttrell; and a sister, Paula Christian.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home- Simpsonville; 313 N. Main St, Simpsonville, SC 29681. The family will receive friends following the service.
Afterwards, a late lunch/early supper will be provided for out-of-towners and others by the Mauldin Church of Christ; 4 Gillin Dr, Simpsonville, SC 29662.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the GBS/CIDP Foundation, the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Foundation or the charity of your choice.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
So enjoyed when he come along to our lunches. Just so enjoyed listening to his life stories and the joy he had in his heart as he told them.
He was such a blessing. Love you my dear friend Susan and praying for him to rest in peace.
I will miss him saying” hello Miss T.” and I will miss him leading songs at church. My heart hurts because he left without saying goodbye, but I know he is happy and singing with those saints that have gone on ahead of us. “I’ll see you soon, my brother in Christ”.
Susan, I can not put into words how much I want to hold you and hug you and make everything alright. I love you.
Dear Susan and family,
Spenser and I are keeping you, and all of Paul’s loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. Paul always seem so mellow, and he was such a joy to be around. I will never forget our lunch at Sweet Catherine’s, it was so sweet to witness the overflowing love you both shared for each other.
I am heartbroken for you.
