Michael Frank McKinney

Michael F. McKinney, 62, of Gray Court, husband of Judy Goolsby McKinney, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Born in Kokomo, IN, Michael was the son of Michael F. & Margaret VanNess McKinney. He was a member of East Georgia Road Baptist Church in Simpsonville. Michael served our country in the United States Navy. He was also a member of the Simpsonville Masonic Lodge, #311, as well as an active member of the Spartanburg/Greenville Pigeon Racing Club.  

In addition to his wife, Judy, and his parents, Michael is survived by two daughters, Laura Fidler (Brian), and Melissa Starrett (Andy) all of IN; a step-son, Christopher Faulkner (Devin) of Columbia, SC; twelve grandchildren, Ava, Evan, Paige, and Claire Fidler, Zachary, Ashton, Collin, Caleb, Matthias, and Harper Starrett, and Josiah and Abigail Faulkner; two great-grandchildren, Tasha and AJ Starrett; and two brothers, Brian and Richard McKinney.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, 12:00 pm at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Fountain Inn. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30 am. Burial with Military Honors will be at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621 at 2:00 pm.

    Laura, Melissa, and family, we are so very sorry for the loss of your father. Although I did not know, I feel like I do from seeing his best come out in you both. Praying for peace and comfort today and all the days ahead. Love and prayers always.

      I was so shocked to hear of Mike’s passing
      He was a credit the sport of Pigeon racing and just a hard working, awesome man and will be missed by all that knew him. My deepest condolences. Chuck Oshaben
