Mary Elizabeth Armstrong Gault
Mary Elizabeth Armstrong Gault, 90, of Fountain Inn, departed this life on June 29, 2011. She had valiantly fought Parkinson’s disease and heart disease for a number of years.
Mrs. Gault was born in Fountain Inn on March 27, 1921 to Police Chief James Gibbon Armstrong and Nancy DeBard Armstrong. She attended the public schools in Fountain Inn and was captain of Ft. Inn High’s basketball team and president of her class.
In 1941 she married her high school sweetheart H. Murk Gault and they raised three daughters who were their loves – Pam (deceased 1990), Jennie, and Ginger. Mrs. Gault was an excellent cook and seamstress and loved most all sports, gardening, reading, helping her children with schoolwork and attending antique auctions.
She adored her four grandchildren – Gault, Gib, Mary-Murk and Wen – who all brought many happy hours to her life.
A private service was held for Mrs. Gault.
