My deepest sympathy to Tom, Jessie, Everett and all the family of my dearest friend Maria……..
I met Maria just over 30 years ago when I became a GS Leader. She immediately welcomed me, took me under her wing as a new leader, and we quickly became friends. My adult life would not have been the same without her in it. She is always so exotic, creative, and beautiful. I experienced so many things because she convinced me to try them… Cruises, Restaurants, Goat cheese, oysters, so many more things I could list. She help me grow into the strong woman I am today by being my friend, and accepting me imperfectly and unconditionally. I’m always honored to be her friend and so proud to have her as my friend. She is an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and a great example of what we all strive to be. Her heart is huge and I am so thankful for the inspirations and unconditional love she share with me. The family she created and the families you all have created, will clearly carry her legacy well into the next generation and beyond. The smile on her face becomes a proud glow when she talked about you all. I loved seeing that happiness on her face. The lives she has touched, the people who are better because she showed she cared, is truly immeasurable and well beyond the limits of blood lines and friendships. Schools, PTA, Sports Teams, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Foster children, Mastic Beach Ambulance Company and Juniors Program, Teaching Art to Homeschool groups, Crafting Clubs, Bunco Games Group, your community fun committee …… and I’m sure there are more I missed. Maria gave so much to so many.
