Lucille Emily Woods
Lucille Emily Woods, 88, widow of Vernon Erskine Woods of Simpsonville passed away peacefully at McCall Hospice House on Friday, June 22, 2018. Born in the Hillside community, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Thomas and the late Ida Padget Thomas.
Mrs. Woods is survived by two daughters, Vernelle May (Craig) of Simpsonville and Donna Ritchie (John) of Fountain Inn; a son, Chris Woods (Sandra) of Simpsonville; five grandchildren, Michael Perry (Kim), Ryan White (Tim), Jonathan Ritchie, Cade Woods, and Cameron Woods; five great grandchildren, Emily Perry, Norah White, Isla White, Kylee Bradley, and Jayden Ritchie; and three sisters, Grace Masters, Bonnie Kelly, and Hazel Sims.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her brother Fred Thomas.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn beginning at 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm the same day in the Chapel at Cannon Funeral Home.
Burial will in Cannon Memorial Park.
Vernelle, Donna, and Chris, so sorroy to hear that Mrs.Woods and passed away. We know what a great loss this is for you, but at the same time, you know that all the pain and suffering are now gone away. Knowing that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus. You can have the peace knowing that one day you will be with and see her again. May God make smooth the path before you, in the trying times ahead. Keeping faith and trust in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and remember he said that he will nor place more on us than we can bare, Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family.
