Josephine Texana Hill Paxton, 89, widow of S. Clifford Paxton Sr., passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Born in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Bennie Franklin and Janie Nelson Hill. 

She is survived by two sons, Spurgeon Paxton Jr. (Connie) and Talmadge Paxton; two granddaughters, Nisa DelVecchio (Teddy) and Brandi Blackwell (Caz); four great-grandchildren, Chyanne Davenport (Kemani), Sharon Blackwell, Patricia Blackwell, and Jacob DelVecchio; and four great-great-grandchildren, Alba Davenport, Zola Davenport, Cassius Duckett, and Brayden McGuckian.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonya Denise Paxton Knight. 

A Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
