Joan Curtin Cheek

Joan Curtin Cheek, 87, formerly of Miami, FL and Vero Beach, FL, went home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2017, at National Health Care of Mauldin.

Born in Knoxville, TN on February 12, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Marie Curtin. She attended the University of Tennessee. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Raymond T. Cheek, Sr.; her son, Randy Cheek (Sandy) of Miami, FL; and her daughter, Cynthia Cheek Stewart (Jim) of Simpsonville; her beloved grandchildren: Mandie (Brian) Mattison and Greg (Elizabeth) Stewart; and great grandchildren: Bradley Crowell, Chapman, Rayleigh and Ryder Stewart. She is also survived by her brother, Gerard (Pat) Curtin of Buffalo Grove, IL.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Rev. Gregory F. Curtin and Kevin N. Curtin.

The family would like to thank the staff of National Health Care, Mauldin for the loving and professional care given to Joan.

Private services will be held for the family at a later date.
