James Joseph Stewart
James Joseph “Jim” Stewart, 75, husband of Carol Edwards Stewart, of Fountain Inn, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024. Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late James and Mae Johnston Stewart.
Jim enjoyed many pastimes such as woodworking, fishing, baseball, boxing and music. He was known for bringing joy to those around him and loved telling stories and reminiscing. His memory lives on with his beloved family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two sons, Travis Stewart (Christina) of Mahopac, NY and James Stewart (Yvonne) of Chapel Hill, NC; three grandchildren, Liam, Gwendolyn, and James Stewart; a sister, Jessie Shannon of Bayshore, NY; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Masin and Mae Stewart.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home, 1150 North Main Street, Fountain Inn on Saturday, March 23, 2024 beginning at 12:00 pm. The family will visit with friends following the service.
We are so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss. He was such a sweet man. May your family find comfort in knowing he lives on in your hearts and walks beside you each day.
