Jimmy and I were childhood friends from Morgan Circle in Simpsonville. All of us kids rode our bikes together and played in each other’s yards. We always had a good time. I used to play with his wife Patricia, too. I am so very sorry for your loss! May God be near and comfort you greatly during this time.
Jimmy and I grew up together playing football from a very young age. Was a great guy and high respected. Have followed his path and prayers go up to all the family! Hal Hiott

Jimmy and I both had heart transplants within 5 months of each other…
We rode together to appointments at MUSC and met for lunch and conversation often, early on in both of our transplants journeys.
We kinda lost track the last few years when our grandkids showed up, but, I loved him and will always love him like he is my brother!

So sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing. He was a fine Christian man ! He took my husband to a doctor’s appointment, once when I could not get off work. He came from a fine line of Gilbert men. I loved his granddad and his great granddad even as a child. Praying for Nancy, Patricia, Haleigh and Cyndi through this time! May God be close to you all! Love,
Jimmy’s family and ours used to go camping a lot back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, He was just a boy and a little older than our boys. He was wonderful young man and grew up to be a good man. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family. We know he will be missed.
