James Bryant Medlin, 86, of Gray Court, SC, widower of Sandra Gail Medlin, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Born in Huntsville, AL, he was the son of the late James Albert and Lossie Mae Tucker Medlin.

James is survived by five children, James B. Medlin, Jr. (Kim), John R. Medlin, Harlon E. Edger, Lossie C. Medlin, and Steven B. Medlin (Crystal); two siblings, Glenda Bailey and Jennings Bryant Medlin; granddaughter, Jennifer Clark (Roger); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Teresa Ann Browning and Michael C. Edger; and three siblings, Charles Donald Medlin, Elon Priscilla Jones, and Lyle Eugene Medlin.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home; 1150 N. Main St., Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park.
