Irene Shipman, 78, of Simpsonville, wife of Merrill Shipman for 57 years, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Born in Manchester, NH, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rose Therrien Denoncourt.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shipman is survived by her three children, David Shipman, Chris Shipman and Joanne Schmitt; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three brothers.

She was preceded in death by one grandson and one sister.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 12:10 PM at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: St Vincent de Paul Society – St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
