Holland “Holly” Eakins

Holland “Holly” Eakins, 24 of Newport News, VA, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023.  Born in Mesa, AZ, she was a daughter of the late Rod Eakins and Shannon Loudermilk and her husband Brad.

Holly enjoyed being outdoors and loved animals. As a little girl, she entertained the idea of becoming a veterinarian. Holly enjoyed kayaking, waterfalls, and going to the beach with her daughters. She even enjoyed dancing in the rain. Holly looked forward to family campouts on her parents’ property affectionately known as Camp Loudermilk.  Holly recognized the importance of sacrifice and joined the U.S. Army to provide for her daughters.

In addition to her mother and step-dad, Holly is survived by two daughters, Amelia and Rayleigh; seven siblings, Ashleigh Spilotras (Andrew), Christine Martinelli (Joshua), Liana Beachman (Cody), Kaylea Loudermilk, R.J. Baron, Olivia Loudermilk, and Dylan Abramowitz; grandparents Curtis and Pam Styvaert; grandparents, Douglas and Dianna Loudermilk; and eleven nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Holly was preceded in death by her grandmother Linda Eakins and her grandfathers, Bob Eakins and John Cook.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville, from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm. The Funeral Service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm in the Heritage Chapel of Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville. Everyone is encouraged to wear colorful attire to celebrate Holly’s life.

    Heartfelt condolences to all. I wanted to share a special memory of Holland…she attended my Dad’s 90th surprise BD party in 2008. Holland knew my Dad loved “Deal or no Deal.” & gave her game to him. My Dad & the entire family were so touched by her thoughtfulness. What a sweet thing to do😘.
