Helen Burgess

Helen Burgess, 87, of Simpsonville, widow of Russell Burgess, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late David L. Goodnough and the late Ruby Carnes Goodnough. Mrs. Burgess was a member of Temple Baptist Church and retired from Gault’s Cleaners.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Jane Burgess, of Tennessee and one son, William Harry Sprouse, and his wife, Dana, of Ridgeland; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Stone, and one brother, Dick Goodnough, and his wife, Betty, all of Simpsonville.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard Sprouse and Russ Burgess, and her first husband, William Sprouse.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Greenville Memorial Gardens, 7784 Augusta Rd., Piedmont.
