Our mother Emperatriz Arango was a loving, nurturing and caring woman with an exceptional light and charisma. She raised her children and had a hand in raising her grandchildren as well as her great- grandchildren. This was not a chore for her but a labor of love.

She was the best aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews. She was a good conversationalist, always offering kind and soothing words, and a wonderful shoulder to cry on. She loved coffee and was very particular about the cup she drank it from.

She worked diligently as a seamstress and loved life with equal enthusiasm.

She was always the life of the party, from her youth as a competitive tango dancer, she kept dancing well into her eighties lighting up every holiday and special occasion like only she could.

She stayed in contact with her Colombian roots and visited her beloved country of origin countless of times to spend time with extended family members and friends.

Words cannot express the void her loss has left in the lives of all those fortunate enough to have known her, but we know that she is resting peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord, reunited with all of our dear relatives who have passed on. We will forever hold her dearly in our hearts.
