Doris Elizabeth Hipps Burton, wife of the late Melvin Ralph Burton, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the age of 99. Born in Greenville, SC, on May 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lindsey and Ida Owens Hipps. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, an avid gardener that simply enjoyed being outdoors. She was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church in Greenpond, SC.

Doris is survived by her children, Melva Trammel (Steve) of Clarksville, VA and Maxine Burton of Edisto Island, SC; grandchildren, Renne Trammel Glover (Todd) of Raleigh, NC, Greg Trammel (Valerie) of Orlando, FL, Ginny Flowers (Frankie) of Edisto Island, SC; great grandchildren, Callen Flowers, and Hannah Flowers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park in Fountain Inn.
