Clint Edward Matkin

Clint Edward Matkin, 38, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at his home in Greenville, SC.

Clint was born in Blakely, GA on March 12, 1974, to Mr. and Mrs. C. Edward Matkin of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of Blakely, GA. He attended Living Branch Ministries in Greer, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Kayla Lynn Matkin and her mother Tricia W. Matkin of Mauldin, SC; sister, Lynn Matkin Morgan and her husband Ryan of Simpsonville, SC; nieces, Caroline and Catherine Morgan of Simpsonville, SC and Emily Badour of Easley. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John W. Matkin and Rev. and Mrs. Andrew H. Lanier, Jr. of Blakley, GA and stepson Tyler Young of Greenville, SC.

The receiving of friends and family will be held at Southside Baptist Church in Blakely, GA Sunday, February 10, 2013, at 1 pm with services following at 2 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013, from 6 pm – 8 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 313 N. Main Street, Simpsonville, SC.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Andy Lanier, Jr. scholarship fund at Southside Baptist Church, 22240 Lucile Road, Blakely, GA, 39823.
