Catherine Hahn Woodhurst
Catherine Hahn Woodhurst, 86, widow of David A. Woodhurst, of Simpsonville, died on Monday, December 5, 2022. Catherine was born June 28, 1936, in Greenwood, SC, to the late F. W. (Bill) and Martha Meares Hahn. Cathy was a retired church secretary and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Simpsonville.
Cathy is survived by a brother-in-law, Maurice “Bull” Halsey and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Cathy was preceded in death by two brothers, Freddie Hahn and Henry Hahn; a sister Dorothy Halsey; a nephew, Charles Halsey; and two nieces, Lynn Hahn and “Scout” Hahn.
Graveside services will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church, 500 Holland Road, Simpsonville, on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 3:00 pm. The family will visit with friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund, Bethel United Methodist Church, 500 Holland Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or an animal society of the donor’s choice.
Dear Family and cousins,
I am so sorry to be just now finding out about sweet Catherine’s death. her Christmas card came back this evening and her cell phone is no longer available. we have so enjoyed writing each other and keeping in touch. we saw each other last at my cousin Dottie’s funeral and fell right into good friends. please know how much she is missed and well loved. ya’ll are in my prayers. and I will miss her so well!
