Brenda Taylor Schuler

Brenda T. Schuler, 68, died at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, in her daughter’s home in Greenville, South Carolina in the presence of her family. Born September 21, 1944, in Pearisburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence J. and Mary Kate Taylor of Pearisburg.

She was a graduate of Giles High School and Mary Washington College. Following school, Brenda worked for the Lyndon Johnson administration until she met her husband and moved to Germany for two years. Upon returning to Staunton, Virginia, Brenda worked in Real Estate eventually becoming a licensed broker and owner of Prestige Properties, Inc. Brenda and her family were members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton. Her favorite past times included relaxing at the beach, watching golf and tennis, and playing competitive duplicate bridge. In 2009, she moved from Staunton to Greenville, South Carolina to be closer to the family.

On July 1, 1967, Brenda married William N. Schuler, who loved her dearly until his passing in 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Schuler Ericson and her husband Gregory Douglas Ericson of Greenville, South Carolina, and by her son, Taylor William Schuler and his wife Sara Hamilton Schuler of Greenville, South Carolina. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Laura Ann Ericson, Sean William Ericson, and Ruby Caroline Schuler all of Greenville, South Carolina. Brenda is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Delores Taylor of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Thomas Olson of Bozeman, Montana.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 1:00 pm preceded by a private burial at Thornrose Cemetery.

Pallbearers include P. William Moore, Jr., Rudolph Bumgardner III, Raeford D. Rockwell, Jr., J. Patrick Danahy, Miles F. P. Willett, and Wayt B. Timberlake III. Honorary pallbearers include Allen R. Walker, Jr., Richard Shamrock, and Jack Todd.

A visitation with the family will be held in Greenville, South Carolina at Catherine & Gary Daniels residence, 124 Rockingham Road, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at 6:00 pm.
