Bobby “Bob” J. Campbell
Bob Campbell, 85, of Greenville, husband of Pat Gowder Campbell went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 23, 2026 while at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Greenville, Mr. Campbell was a son of the late Dewey & Melba Campbell. He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church.
Bob was a graduate of Greenville High School class of 1959 where he fell in love with baseball and was on the baseball team. He later played “Semipro baseball” for a short time. He began his career in Textiles with John D Hollingsworth on Wheels and continued for 20 plus years. Anyone who knew Bob has heard some of his “Hollingsworth” stories and there were many. His greatest passion was for his family . He was so proud of is grands and great grands and was so loved by all. He will be missed.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Campbell is survived by four children, Jeff Campbell (April), Chad Campbell (Stacy), Allen Ostendorff, and Cary Ostendorff (Phyllis); fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Cheryl Crowley (Jimmy); and two brothers, Danny Campbell (Becky), and Ed Campbell.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main St, Taylors, SC 29687. Inurnment will be private for the family.
The family will receive friends at the church starting at 12:45 pm.
If you wish to Honor Bob, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Taylors FBC or a charity of one’s choice.

So sorry for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and so much more. He was a sweet person!! I have always thought alot of him. God is good to give us people like him to love in our lives. My love and prayers go out to you all!!

Bobby was my classmate at Greenville Hi. Such a sweet man. So glad I knew him.
