Alan R. Arnold

Alan Arnold, 65, of Simpsonville, husband of Robin Arnold for 39 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 24, 2024.

Born in Warsaw, NY, he was the son of the late Donald R. & Barbara Holiday Arnold.

In addition to his wife, Robin, Alan is survived by his dear cousin, Brian Arnold of Fillmore, NY; brothers-in-law Gerald Jones of Simpsonville, SC and Charles Jones of Easley, SC; his sister-in-law Lynne Jones Edwards of Easley, SC; and several beautiful nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jayne M. Fox.

Alan’s 45 year career was spent in radio and television sharing his talents in producing, directing, and broadcasting. He was the recipient of numerous broadcasting and cable advertising awards before retiring from SC-ETV in 2019.

Alan lived a full life doing the things he loved. As a true Anglophile, he loved exploring the beautiful UK, meeting some amazing people along the way. As a former member of the Foothills British Car Club, he loved tinkering on his 1974 Austin Mini. He was also an avid history buff who never tired of learning anything new. Those who were blessed to know him will remember his ability to toss out obscure facts on just about anything.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Simpsonville with Pastor Greg Hellams officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum in Cannon Byrd Memorial Park in Fountain Inn.

The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Simpsonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals “ASPCA” @ ASPCA | American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

Alan Arnold. Just the name brings on a smile. So glad I had the chance to catch up with him, telling stories from deep in the last century. Lives may drift apart but that makes a reunion all the better. I will see you again my friend!
