Jacob Eason Ashley

Jacob Eason Ashley, 38, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of Claude (Jay) and Elissa Ashley.

Jacob was one of a kind. He had the greenest of green thumbs, the quickest wit, the world’s most eclectic music taste, a great laugh, and the best smile! Jacob always checked on his friends and family and lifted them up when they needed it the most.

Jacob loved the outdoors from fishing, gardening, and campfires. Jacob was anywhere speed could be found: from BMX bike racing to driving modified Asian imports.

Jacob, we will miss you, your twinkle, your grin, your humor. You touched so many people and created strong memories. You are loved!

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Leah (Julian) Nattes and Sarah (Andrew) Culclasure; nieces and nephews, Ariana Mendieta, Gabriel Mendieta, Isabela Nattes, Darien Culclasure, Adelaide Culclasure and Rowan Culclasure.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wallace Robinson and Dru Robinson, and his paternal grandparents, B Don Ashley Sr. and Ruby Ashley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville at 313 North Main St. Simpsonville, SC 29681.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or charity of one’s choice.

We were not with Jacob a lot, but certain stories come to mind. Bob wanted a young Jacob to really get to go out on Lake Huron and ride the waves on a Sea Doo–can still feel my heart sink when Jacob & Bob flew off the Sea Doo. Still young–then Jacob’s fascination with our friends’ last name–Tudor–reminded his 12-year-old self of a bodily function. But seeing the maturing Jacob over the years, every visit we saw a huge grin on his face. That’s the way we will always remember Jacob. Hugs to his loving family.

  • Elissa and Jay,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have 25 years of amazing memories with Jacob. All the BMX racing, Boy Scouts, home videos, digging fox holes in our backyard, tree houses, fishing, to growing up and learning to drive and experiencing life together. He has always made a tremendous impact on my life and will continue to do so. Jacob “chip” will greatly be missed.
