William Ed Johnson
William Ed Johnson, 71, of Simpsonville, husband of Sheila Cannady Johnson for over 50 years, joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Born in Augusta, GA, Eddie was a son of the late James E. and Elizabeth Wilson Johnson.
In addition to his wife, Eddie is survived by a son, Jason Johnson, and his wife, Janet, of Simpsonville; two grandsons, Avery and Jaret Johnson; a brother, Stan (Dina) Johnson; sisters, Jimi Lou (Bob) Bullard, Nancy (Earl) Burns, Connie Snow, Tracy (Buddy) King, and Letitia Blankenship; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Johnson; a sister Billie Jo Thackston; his wife’s parents, Roger and Myrtle Cannady; a nephew, Michael Burns; and a brother-in-law, Jim Snow.
The family will visit with friends and family on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Home in Simpsonville from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. The Funeral service will follow in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park in Fountain Inn.

We extend our deepest condolences in the passing of Eddie. I remember the Johnson brothers and many of you very well from Hillcrest, etc. as always good folks to know.

Sheila I am very sad to hear of Eddie’s passing. I had some good times with Eddie and Stanley many years ago during our high school days at Hillcrest. We’ll be praying for you and thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
