William “Bill” R. Roberts

Bill Roberts, 89, of Simpsonville, husband of Sara Finch Roberts for 68 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 while surrounded by his family.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late J.L. Roberts and the late Beulah G. Roberts. Bill was a committed Christian and a member of Fairview Street Baptist Church in Fountain Inn for 49 years and 16 years most recently at Holly Ridge Baptist Church. Bill was a WWII Army Veteran and worked for many years in the textile industry for Woodside Mills in Fountain Inn.

In addition to his wife, Sara, he is survived by one son, David Roberts and his wife, Eileen, of Simpsonville; one daughter, Ann Gault, and her husband, Eric, of FL; grandchildren, Sherry (Chip) Singleton of FL, Josh (Tori) Hayes of Simpsonville, and Travis (Lisa) Hayes of Simpsonville; great-grandchildren, Kimbell Singleton, Samantha Singleton, Grace Hayes, Camdyn Hayes, Adam Hayes and Caitlyn Hayes; and one great, great-grandchild, Aubrey Hayes.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ben Morris; one brother, Charles Roberts, and one sister, Kathleen R. Burton.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20th at Heritage Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Josh Culbertson officiating.

Mr. Roberts will be available for the paying of respect during the morning hours on Friday.

Interment will be in Cannon Memorial Park.
