Thomas B. Mott
Thomas Brian Mott, 66, of Simpsonville, SC, widower of Pamela C. Mott, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, NY, he was a son of the late Richard and Estelle Schabot Mott.
Thomas did everything for his family, especially his wife and daughter. He worked hard his entire life to be able to not only provide for them, but to spoil them. He was proof that unconditional love was real and didn’t have a selfish bone in his body. Aside from the love he had for his human family members, he had an immense amount of love for his furry family members as well. He loved animals, and they really loved him back. He was a hero to his daughter and left his mark on countless others.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Shelby Lynn Mott (Travis); a brother, Tim Mott (Anita); six nieces and nephews: Damien (Nell), Jason (Danielle), Krystie (PJ), Lauren (Dave), Christopher, and Eric (Katy); and his beloved pets, Beorn, Samwise, Pippin, Sparky, and Louis.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Michele Bull.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home; 1150 N. Main St, Fountain Inn, SC 20644.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2252 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville 29681. Interment will follow in the Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bon Secours St Francis Downtown Hospital (donations can be made as a “memorial gift” under Thomas Mott’s name) and/or the Greenville Humane Society.

To Tom’s family. Tom and I were close many years ago in Schenectady. He was such a great-looking guy and a kind friend. I remember his mom and it is so sad to hear of his passing. Although we grew apart over the years living in different states, I held a spot in my heart and will keep those youthful memories. May God bless you, Tom, your wife, daughter, family, and friends. Love ya, buddy.
