Sharon Louise Lewis Spiegel

Sharon Louise Lewis Spiegel, 67, of Gray Court, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born March 29, 1946 in Westland, MI, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Sally Hutchins Lewis.

She was a graduate of Wayne Memorial High School, Wayne, MI in 1964 and served as a student X-Ray Technician at Wayne County General Hospital in Eloise, MI from 1965 until 1967. She graduated from Madonna University in Livonia, MI in 1981, earning her Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology and received honors and was a member of Kappa Gamma Pi. She worked as an X-Ray Technician in MI from 1967 until 1983. She married Kenneth Spiegel in 1983 and moved to Maryland. She worked as X-Ray technician in MD from 1983 until 1999 and Medical Transcriptionist from 2000 until 2005. She retired in 2005 and moved to Gray Court, South Carolina.

She enjoyed sailing and was named the first woman Commodore of the pleasure Cove Yacht & Beach Club in Annapolis, MD. She was an animal lover, active in Greyhound Rescue and served as the Hospitality Chair of the Greenville Kennel Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking.

In addition to her husband, Ken, of 30 years, she is also survived by her brother, Philip Lewis of Wayne, MI; sister-in-law, Nancy Weinberg of Fairfield, OH; and brother-in-law, Gary Spiegel of McLean, VA.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Cannon Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain Inn, SC. Interment will immediately follow in Cannon Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Cannon Funeral Home, 1150 North Main Street, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.
