Sandra Kay Wilson Maher
Sandra Kay Wilson Maher entered eternal rest on July 19, 2024, after prolonged illness. In the days prior to her passing, she was surrounded by her loved ones including her three daughters, Lisa, Nicole, and Stacy as well as all seven of her grandchildren. Sandra, known as Sandy to her friends, was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She spent most of her adult years in Parkersburg, West Virginia raising her children and working at Mountain State (now Highmark) Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Several years after retirement, she relocated to northern Ohio for a short period before moving to Simpsonville, South Carolina where she spent her final years.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Vivian Sprague of Amherst, MA, her daughters, Lisa Lahiff, of Goshen, NY, Nicole Maher, of Laurel, Maryland, and Stacy Jacobs, of Gray Court, South Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cecelia Lahiff, Deirdre Lahiff, Brendan Lahiff, and Siobhan Lahiff of Goshen, NY and Caitlin Jacobs, Maria Jacobs, and Sophia Jacobs of Gray Court, South Carolina.
Her spunk, humor and big heart will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Sandy requested that she be cremated after her passing and that a memorial celebration of her life be held in Parkersburg, WV later this fall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Sandy’s name to Hospice House of Greenville, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
