Ruth Elizabeth Hamilton Sayer
Ruth Sayer, 88, of Greenville, widow of Robert Harris Sayer, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon, January 22, 2014. She was at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee Hamilton and Katie Inez McGraw Hamilton. Mrs. Sayer was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church, was a graduate of Parker High School and retired after a long career with Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
Mrs. Sayer, known by all that loved her as Mimi, is survived by one daughter, Wanda Lee Sayer Todd of Greenville; one son, Richard Wayne Sayer of Greenville; one granddaughter, Tyree Lee Todd Byrd and husband, Andy, of Greenville; one grandson, Kyle Thomas Todd and wife, Christine, of Greenville; and four great-grandchildren, Merritt, Parker and Anna Clair Byrd and Toddy Todd all of Greenville.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Mrs. Sayer was preceded in death by one grandson, Shane Perry Todd and a brother, Walter Lee Hamilton of Greenwood.
Mimi was devoted to her family and at one time was the proud 2nd generation of 5 living generations.
The family would like to express their gratitude and deep appreciation to Heavenly Care Services and especially Felicia Hagood for the individual care and compassion she provided Mimi.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private committal will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
