Maxine Arrowood Stribling
Maxine Arrowood Stribling, 73, of Fountain Inn, widow of Stanley J. Stribling, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
Mrs. Stribling was born in Spartanburg to the late Richard Earl and Mildred Williams Arrowood. She was a graduate of Laurens High School. Maxine, known by many as “Mackee” was employed by Walmart Distribution, the US Post Office and retired from Teknor Apex but her labor of love was her small cake business. She spent many years crafting beautiful wedding cakes and took great pride in making her clients happy with her confections. She was also active in her church, singing in the choir at Shiloh UMC in Hickory Tavern, SC and later at Hebron UMC where she enjoyed singing with their church group and traveling to nursing homes with them to sing for the residents.
Surviving are a son, Tim Nelson and his wife Debbie; a daughter, Tracy Schock and her husband Michael; and three grandchildren, Tesla Howell and husband Ridge, Corbin Nelson and Henry Nelson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Jim Nelson; a brother, Ronnie V. Arrowood; and two sisters, Jean Griswold and Shirley Stadalsky.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in the chapel of Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
“She was a kind spirited woman who loved her family and friends deeply and put others before herself. She will be greatly missed.”
