Roger Allen Washburn
Roger Allen Washburn, 87, of Simpsonville, husband of Dawna Washburn, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Born in Newport, VT, he was a son of the late Rao O. and Mabel Wagner Washburn. Roger served our country and retired from the Air Force after 20 years.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by a son, Steve B. Washburn and a daughter Mary Ann Leis; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Demmingware of Moretown, VT.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Frances Mahaffey Washburn; a son, Larry A. Washburn; a daughter, Brenda Faye McDaniel; two sisters Minnie Ross and Mable Bissell; and three brothers, Frank, Maurice, and Rae Washburn.
A Visitation will be held at Bible Baptist Church on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:30 am. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 pm. Following the service, Mr. Washburn will be laid to rest at Cannon-Byrd Memorial Park with full military honors.

Miss Dawna, I was saddened to learn that my friend Roger, had passed away. I have know Roger for many years. I was a life long friend with his first wife Frances, and son Larry. Roger was one of a kind, (lovable, kind, funny, and most of all a caring person) He love people an could talk with you all day long. He never met a stranger. He and Miss Dawna enjoyed all their trips to the Coach House . He could have ben a greeter for them, as they sat in the front most of the time. I know that all that knew him will miss him sorely. To the rest of the family, may God make smooth the path ahead of you in the days and months ahead. I will miss, my friend and his warm and sweet smile. RIP .
Dear Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Roger was a Wondeful man. I feel truly blessed to have got to know him. I will miss his smiling face everyday. I will keep your family in my prayers. He will be missed. I only knew him for about two years but it didn’t take long to love him.
So sorry that Roger has passed away but we know now that he is in heaven with his many friends that went before him. He was a great person and friend. We will keep you and the family in our prayers.
